Diaper Need in Rural Communities: The Quiet Crisis

Diaper need doesn’t only affect urban populations. Families in rural areas often face unique challenges, including lack of local diaper banks and limited access to public transportation.

In areas where big-box stores are far away, diapers can cost significantly more. And since rural communities often have fewer support organizations, diaper distribution is limited.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture and Rural Health Information Hub note that rural poverty can be just as severe—and often more isolating—than urban poverty.
