One of the questions we hear most often is:

"Why do I need a free ticket for Diaper Day?"

It's a great question, and the answer is simple: our ticket system is designed to serve families better.

Houston Lone Star Diaper Bank is entirely donation-supported and volunteer-operated. Every month, we prepare hundreds of diaper kits, carefully packing each one based on the diaper sizes requested during registration.

Rather than operating as a traditional first-come, first-served event, we use a free ticket system for two very important reasons.

1. We want every family to receive the diaper size they need.

Many of the families we serve travel a considerable distance to attend our monthly distributions. Some drive 30 minutes, while others travel for more than an hour.

We know that making the trip requires time, fuel, and planning. The last thing we want is for a family to arrive after a long journey only to discover that we've run out of the diaper size they need.

When you register for a free ticket, you select your child's diaper size. Our volunteers use this information to prepare your diaper kit before the event, reserving the correct size specifically for your family.

Your ticket means you can arrive knowing that your diapers are waiting for you.

2. It helps us provide a safe and organized event.

We love seeing our Diaper Days shared throughout the community. Every post, comment, and share helps another family discover that support is available.

At the same time, our ability to serve families is limited by the donations we receive and the number of volunteers available each month.

Using a ticket system allows us to:

Prepare the correct number of diaper kits.
Reserve the right diaper sizes for each family.
Reduce long wait times and overcrowding.
Create a safer, more organized experience for everyone.
Ensure our volunteers can focus on helping families rather than managing unexpectedly large crowds.

Our goal is for every family to have a positive, welcoming experience from the moment they arrive until they leave with the supplies they need.

We would love to help every family who needs diapers.

Unfortunately, because our inventory depends entirely on donations, we can only prepare a certain number of diaper kits each month.

By using free tickets, we know exactly how many families we can serve and can make sure every registered family receives the diaper size they requested.

Without tickets, we would risk running out of supplies, creating long wait times, and disappointing families who made the trip expecting assistance.

Our tickets are always FREE.

There is never a charge to attend one of our Diaper Days.

The ticket simply reserves your diaper size and your place at that month's distribution.

Tickets are released approximately seven days before each Diaper Day on our website on the Events page.

Once you've received your confirmation email, you're registered and your diaper kit will be prepared for you.
