May Diaper Day Recap: Supporting Houston Families Together

Our May Diaper Day was another important reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to support local families.

This month, the Houston Lone Star Diaper Bank prepared 300 family support kits, with 146 families attending the event. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers, we distributed:

3,650 diapers
41,428 baby wipes
103 tins of infant formula
1,606 period and PPE products

For many families, these products help bridge the gap during difficult financial periods and provide a little extra breathing room in household budgets.

We are incredibly grateful to every donor, corporate sponsor, volunteer, and supporter who makes these events possible. Every diaper, wipe, and essential care item distributed is funded through community support and generosity.

New to the Houston Lone Star Diaper Bank? Here’s How Diaper Day Works

We know many families may be attending for the first time, so we wanted to explain the process for our monthly Diaper Days.

Step 1: Get a Ticket

Tickets for each Diaper Day are released 7 days before the event date through the Events page on our website.

Tickets are important because they help our team prepare enough inventory, staffing, and support for attending families.

Step 2: Attend During Your Ticket Window

Families with tickets will receive priority service during the event. Our team works hard to move everyone through quickly and efficiently while making sure products are distributed fairly.

Missed Out on a Ticket?

If tickets sell out before you can register, you are still welcome to come between 12:00pm and 1:00pm on event day.

If there are any unclaimed kits remaining after ticket holders have been served, we will distribute those kits during that final hour.

Availability depends on attendance and remaining stock

A reminder to all families: products distributed by the Houston Lone Star Diaper Bank are provided completely free of charge.
