At the Houston Lone Star Diaper Bank (HLSDB), every package packed is a step closer to dignity, comfort, and care for the families we serve. On April 24, 2025, we were honored to welcome a group of four dedicated volunteers from three organizations under the IAEE Central Texas Chapter (CTC) banner. Their generosity of time and spirit made a meaningful impact—and reminded us just how vital volunteers are to our mission.
Meet Our Volunteers: Ariana, Brenda, Marilyn, and Sarah

Representing different IAEE CTC organizations but united by compassion, Ariana, Brenda, Marilyn, and Sarah rolled up their sleeves and got to work in our warehouse. In just a few short hours, their teamwork and dedication brought incredible results:
200 mail-outs prepared for upcoming campaigns and communications
390 Mom & Bub Emergency Kits assembled, each carefully packed with:
47,580 baby wipes
1,950 face masks
1,560 tampons
780 feminine pads
That’s more than just numbers—that’s hundreds of moms, babies, and individuals who will be a little safer, a little cleaner, and a lot more supported thanks to these four women.
Why Volunteers Matter
Diaper banks like HLSDB are driven by purpose, but powered by people. While donations provide the physical resources, it’s volunteers who bring those resources to life—sorting, packing, and distributing supplies with care and consistency.
The need is constant. Families facing poverty, crisis, or displacement often go without essentials many of us take for granted. Diapers, wipes, period products, and hygiene kits are not covered by government assistance programs like SNAP or WIC. That’s where we step in—and we can’t do it alone.
Volunteers allow us to stretch every dollar and serve more families with dignity. They bring energy, heart, and humanity to our warehouse floor. Whether you can give a day, a few hours, or ongoing support, you are part of the lifeline we provide to families across Houston and beyond.
A Lasting Impact
The work done on April 24 won’t just be remembered by our team—it’ll be felt by hundreds of families in need. We are so thankful to Ariana, Brenda, Marilyn, and Sarah for showing up and showing what compassion in action looks like.
To the IAEE Central Texas Chapter, thank you for supporting HLSDB and encouraging your members to engage with the community in such a meaningful way.
